The 4th grade social studies class has just completed the Native American unit. For the past few weeks, we have created scrimsaws, totem poles, talking pots (pottery), and animal hide writings. We have also enjoyed using the Chromebooks to create totem poles online and to play Mission US, an interactive game that allowed us to experience the Native American life.
Well, thanks to Youtube, my second grade students now can tell you what a pinball machine looks like. My students love doing STEM projects. Today they created their very own pinball machines. I never show examples because I want to see how creative they can become. As always, I was AMAZED! They built ramps, bumpers, huts, and even a lever to launch the ball. Some of them even labeled with points based on the difficulty of each obstacle. Wow!
